Going home is what you have been working towards for the past few weeks or months. Together we can develop a plan so that your transition from the hospital to home is a smooth one. Planning for going home should start shortly after your baby arrives to the NICU. Your baby's day of discharge is a major milestone no matter how long he or she has been in the NICU. Because of this, the medical team, social worker and others are available to help your family prepare to go home.
